Meet our first Patron – Mike Peters!

As we move into our 10th(!) year, we are delighted to welcome on board Welsh Icon, Mike Peters who has accepted our invitation to become TAPE’s first Patron.

Mike says: “I am proud and excited to be taking up the role as the first Patron of TAPE.

I have been a supporter of TAPE’s work for several years now and have seen many times how our partnership has created real opportunities for people. We used TAPE’s Arts centre and studio to rehearse for The Gathering 2014 and drafted in TAPE’s fantastic Ghostbuskers community music project to play on the outro for a recording of ‘Declaration’.

TAPE has supported people to shoot and edit the film for the Gathering in 2014, 2015 and 2016. The TAPE team has also supported the work of my Love, Hope, Strength charity through their Coastline Film Festival which held the Welsh premiere of my Everest Rocks documentary and gave a space for audience members to be swabbed for the donor register throughout the festival. I have also performed at TAPE as part of the Light of Day shows and met with many of the people who have benefitted from involvement with TAPE.

It is clear the we share the same sense of community, the value in people coming together to create and the importance of finding your voice and the freedom to express yourself and I am very much looking forward to building on our work together and as serving as Patron of this unique and fantastic charity.”
