Learn more about your local area with heritage walking tours, celebrate Welsh cinema at free film screenings, share your memories of the area, join a band, immerse yourself in binaural sound, create an animation and much more…
The heritage walks take place in four locations throughout the week. The walks will be led by inspiring local heritage guides who will share their passion for local history. As part of the tour you will get a sneak preview of pieces from the Imagine Trail App.
Please wear suitable clothing for the weather. The walks will last between 1 to 1.5hours.

Monday 13th September

The Toll: A darkly-comic thriller about a lone toll-booth operator with a past that is fast catching up with him. Brendan works solo shifts in the quietest toll booth in Wales, hiding from a criminal past where nobody would ever look. When he finally gets rumbled, word of his whereabouts gets out and his enemies head west for revenge.

Jan Vokes (Toni Collette), a cleaner and bartender, recruits her initially reluctant husband Brian (Owen Teale) and local accountant Howard Davies (Damian Lewis) to help her bring together a syndicate of local people to breed a foal – which they name Dream Alliance. On the racetrack, he proves himself to be more than a match for the multi-million-pound racehorses he comes up against – a true working-class champion, taking on the establishment at their own game.

In the summer of 1955, Alfred and Jakobine were crazy for adventure and each other. They married as impetuously as they decided to drive around the world in a beat up London taxicab. Their love, like their trip, was defined by passion, brushes with death and even stardom. Jakobine was certain they’d last forever—but without warning, Alfred left, breaking her heart.
Forty years later, their son Niels takes up their story when, at 84, Alfred decides to restore that old wreck of a car and head across America to see Jakobine one more time.
