One-Movie Film Festival

Day 1

One Movie Film Festival

The One Movie Film Festival is an exciting, rolling event brought to you by TAPE, supported by the North Wales LD Transformation Project and Film Hub Wales.

Each ‘Day’ of the festival will take place over a long weekend, where people can access the main feature along with a host of bespoke content linked to the themes and ideas within that film.

The festival has been co-produced by people accessing TAPE’s Media Club project. Follow TAPE on social media to stay up to date with the festival and to take part in the live Q&A sessions.

One-Movie Film Festival

The festival starts on Friday 26th Feb at midday and films will be available until Sunday 28th Feb at 10pm

Sanctuary
Main Feature

Larry and Sophie are in love. They bribe Tom to book them into a hotel for an afternoon’s tryst and look forward to getting to know each other, like countless couples before them. But Larry and Sophie aren’t any couple; they both have intellectual disabilities. Larry has Down’s, Sophie has epilepsy and Tom is their carer. In a world that conspires to keep them apart, will love triumph?

Len Collin
Interview with the Director of Sanctuary

Filmed over Zoom by TAPE’s Media Club, this is a fascinating interview with Sanctuary director, Len Collin, in which he shares stories from behind the scenes of the film and from his life in films and TV.

Shot over a number of years, but completed during lockdown, the film looks at the representation of disability on our TV and Film Theatre screens with an emphasis on Intellectual disability. It raises questions about inclusivity and diversity in the industry and looks at the making of Sanctuary as a model for the future. Entertaining and accessible.
